The AWAI Global Forum 2022 "Re-Encountering Animism: Arts of Relating with the Worlds of Life" came to a close on December 4.
It turned out a wonderfully thought-provoking two days of exploring the contemporary meaning of animism and mythology in response to the overarching question of how to craft a more relational mode of living and being in this more-than-human world.
We were particularly impressed by how diverse disciplinary perspectives contributed unique questions and answers to the shared agenda, from anthropology and mythology to art, folklore studies, agriculture, food, materiality, fashion, and speculative design.
This forum was attended by more than 170 participants from 19 countries around the world.
All this was made possible by the generous and inspiring work of speakers, interpreters, designers, volunteers, partners, and organizers. We would like to express our sincere thanks to each one of you.
We truly hope that this global forum also opens up new possibilities for creative and collaborative work. We look forward to further diversifying and deepening our collective journey.
